Over the course of Science week, Bricks 4 Kidz will be delivering STEM based workshops for kids!
Science week is a national, annual event that celebrates the life-changing and fascinating world of science. Together with Bricks 4 Kidz, your school can promote scientific principles through play based activities. LEGO® based education programmes have proven to be a very effective method of reinforcing scientific concepts to school age children and a Bricks 4 Kidz science workshop provides children of all ages with a fun and educational way to appreciate how science is a fundamental part of our everyday lives.
Bricks 4 Kidz proprietary model builds, which have been designed by architects and engineers, are accompanied by lesson plans which focus on topics such as laws of motion and physical science. These age appropriate workshops will also enable your pupils to apply their scientific knowledge during the construction of the model builds and further enhance their science vocabulary.
Science Foundation Ireland
Bricks 4 Kidz LEGO® Technic workshops and outreach programmes can be utilised by schools to gain credits towards their Science Foundation Ireland Curious Minds Awards.
All of the builds are delivered in line with the objectives for Science Week. An example of a build is the Helicopter. The objective of this build is to give students an opportunity to investigate the effect of air resistance on the movement of an object. Students will learn about how helicopters work under the principals of Newton’s Law of Motion. Once their model is built they have the opportunity to modify their build exploring the world of STEM even further.
Bricks 4 Kidz delivers science workshops through LEGO® to primary schools throughout Westmeath & Roscommon during Science Week. For more information on Bricks 4 Kidz visiting your school contact us today!
