Tech Week

Tech Week is a nationwide festival of technology which provides students with an opportunity to develop their interest in technology through a series of informative and fun activities. Tech Week provides children with hands-on opportunities to learn about how computing and related technology are shaping every area of life: education, health, environment, social interaction, leisure, citizenship … the list never ends and the pace of change never stops.

Bricks 4 Kidz is a leader in the field of educational play, teaching the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths through LEGO® bricks and Technic. LEGO® based education programmes have proven to be a very effective way of teaching STEM concepts to primary school children and Bricks 4 Kidz has developed curriculum based workshops which will reinforce students’ knowledge of key technological principles.

What happens in a Bricks 4 Kidz Technology Workshop?

Bricks 4 Kidz delivers Technology based workshops for primary schools, using LEGO® Technic & Mindstorms.

• We Learn: The Bricks 4 Kidz tutors will deliver a 10 minute themed lesson about technology
• We Build: Students work collaboratively to build LEGO® models of the concepts discussed during the presentation
• We Play: Students can explore their creativity during the free play time at the end of each workshop

• Each workshop is age appropriate and tailored to the specific curriculum objectives for each class
• Bricks 4 Kidz will provide Garda Vetted tutors to deliver the technology workshops in the classroom
• The LEGO® bricks, Technic and lesson plans for each workshop will be provided by Bricks 4 Kidz
• All workshops are one hour in duration and each child will receive a ‘take-home’ sheet from Bricks 4 Kidz, which can be shown to parents to explain what their child learned during the workshop
